PEPPERDINE PANEL DISCUSSES THE FIRE THAT CONSUMES
For 29 years, The Fire That Consumes has been "a voice raising a biblical challenge" to the "deeply entrenched understanding of hell as unending conscious torment," said Dr. Thomas L. Robinson at the 2011 Christian Scholars Conference (CSC) at Pepperdine University last week. Robinson believes that scholarly work of N. T. Wright and popular work of Rob Bell only make the present time ripe for the book's recently-released, revised third edition. Robinson led a CSC panel that also included Dr. Gordon L. Isaac of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, and Dr. Stanley Helton (D.Min.), a Ph.D. candidate at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisiana.

Ventura Members Communicate Their Faith by Helping the Homeless

“Stay away from that church,” said a local Christian pastor to a homeless family he was helping when they told him how helpful the pastor and members of the Ventura Church had been. “They’re a satanic cult!”

“Pastor, that church is not like that at all,” they responded.
